TwitterI reboot the Windows-servers once a month, after they have been patched.
Linux-servers are rebooted after kernel upgrades.

TwitterLinux is made to live without reboots for 20 years. You can restart once per month as ricky said when you made any update.

TwitterA reboot will not harm your server at all, only your ego that you wont have longer uptime then a day
As a general rule, reboot when needed, not before.
Windows has a tendency to let applications grab memory and when the application is closed all memory grabbed is not always returned.
So sometimes you will get the problems where you have ran out of RAM. Reboot then.
for Linux, it's another story. it will loo like you have ran out of RAM, but that's not always the case.
When processes are being killed because you have no RAM left, reboot.

TwitterHello,
For normal project enough restart one time per month. All data centers upgrading servers, updating kernel`s and other things, so client should be sure that your project will start automatically without any problem after server restart.
